Concerts at the Gorge · George, WA
Gorge Amphitheatre Lodging for Groups
When rooms by the venue sell out months ahead, Canyon Basin House is the next-closest place to land — a full house for eight on 10 private acres, about 45 miles straight down I-90.
The hardest ticket of the weekend is a bed
Why Gorge lodging disappears so fast
The Gorge Amphitheatre is one of the most spectacular concert venues on earth — and one of the toughest places to find somewhere to sleep. Event weekends draw well over 20,000 fans per night, while only about 150 rental listings sit anywhere near the venue in tiny George, Washington. Those book many months in advance, and on-site camping means a hot, dusty night and a long crawl out the next morning.
If you want a real bed, a hot shower, and a kitchen after the show, you have to look a little farther out — and the smartest direction to look is west, toward Ellensburg and the Yakima River Canyon.
Worth the 50 minutes
Skip the campground. Sleep in a real bed.
Ask anyone who's camped the Gorge: 90-degree afternoons, wind that sends canopies into car windshields, music and car alarms well past midnight, and an exit that can crawl for hours. For the price of a 50-minute drive down I-90, you trade all of it for a real bed.
- Beat the heat — a cool, air-conditioned house instead of a 90-degree tent
- Out of the wind & dust — solid walls, not stakes and a flapping rainfly
- Actually sleep — no 2 a.m. car alarms, so you're rested for day two
- Hot showers & a full kitchen — real coffee and real food, not a cooler
- Easy exit — you drive away from the gridlock, already pointed home toward Seattle and Bellevue

Room for the whole group under one roof
Sleeps 8
A king suite, a king bedroom, a Twin XL-over-Queen bunk room, and a queen sofa bed — plenty of space for a group to spread out instead of splitting across hotels.
Full Chef's Kitchen
Cook for the whole group with a pro-grade Thor appliance suite and a white-oak table for eight — far cheaper and better than concert-weekend takeout.
Game Room
Keep the night going with a shuffleboard table, a deep sectional, and a smart TV — the natural gathering spot before and after the show.
Room to Park
Bring every car in the caravan — there's ample parking for the whole group on the property (plus a 30-amp RV hookup if you happen to need it).
Show-night logistics
Getting to the Gorge and back
From the house, it's a straight shot east on I-90 to the George exit and down to the amphitheatre — give yourself about 50 minutes plus extra time for event traffic and parking near the venue. After the encore, you're driving away from the campground bottleneck rather than into it, and you're home in a real bed within the hour.
The next morning, you're already on the right side of the trip: a relaxed drive west over Snoqualmie Pass puts you back in Seattle or Bellevue in about two hours, no detour required.
